Australia in 12 Days – A Journey Through Iconic Destinations

In November 2024, Leoni joined 20 fellow Gold Medal agents on an unforgettable 12-day educational adventure across Australia. Covering six incredible destinations, staying in eight hotels, and taking nine flights along the way, this immersive trip showcased the very best of Australia — from tropical coastlines and bustling cities to the spiritual heart of the Outback.

This whirlwind itinerary was designed to give agents first-hand experience and knowledge to help clients plan their dream Australian escape, and it’s safe to say Australia exceeded every expectation.

Noosa & Brisbane – Coastal Luxury and Relaxed Vibes 🌊

The adventure began in Queensland, landing in Brisbane before transferring to the laid-back coastal paradise of Noosa.

The first few days were spent exploring the stunning beaches, boutique shopping, and natural beauty the region is famous for. Walking tours around Hastings Street revealed trendy cafés, designer shops, and beautiful beachfront scenery, while visits to Noosa National Park offered breathtaking coastal walks and opportunities to spot local wildlife.

There was plenty of time to soak up the sunshine with swims at Noosa Beach and memorable dining experiences at Lanai Noosa and Bistro C. One of the standout experiences was an eco boat cruise through the Noosa Everglades — a peaceful and unique way to experience one of Australia’s most spectacular natural environments.

The group also enjoyed site inspections of luxury accommodation, including glamping experiences and the stunning Peppers Noosa Resort. Before departing Queensland, Joel’s Journeys provided an insightful exploration of Mount Tinbeerwah and local organic shops, before finishing with panoramic city views from a rooftop pool back in Brisbane.

Uluru – The Heart of Australia 🏜️

Next stop: the iconic Red Centre.

After early morning flights, the group arrived at Uluru, one of Australia’s most spiritual and awe-inspiring landmarks. Although stormy weather unfortunately cancelled the planned sunset dinner experience, the magic of the Outback certainly wasn’t lost.

An unforgettable sunrise tour with AAT Kings provided spectacular views over Uluru and Kata Tjuta as the desert landscape transformed with colour. Guided walks and cultural insights into the traditions of the Anangu people offered a deeper understanding of the region’s rich Indigenous heritage.

Accommodation at Sails in the Desert completed the luxury Outback experience, blending comfort with the rugged beauty of Australia’s centre.

Alice Springs – Outback Adventures & Stargazing 🎈✨

The journey then continued by road to Alice Springs, offering even more opportunities to experience the Australian Outback.

Highlights included visits to the historic Telegraph Station, panoramic views from Anzac Hill, and exploring the dramatic landscapes of Standley Chasm and Simpsons Gap.

An unexpected train derailment created a slight change of plans, but it simply led to even more Outback adventures — including one of the trip’s most unforgettable moments: a sunrise hot air balloon ride over the desert landscape.

Evenings in Alice Springs were spent stargazing beneath some of the clearest skies in the world while enjoying local cuisine and Outback hospitality.

Port Lincoln & The Eyre Peninsula – Wildlife, Culture & Coastal Beauty 🦪🐨

Flying onward to South Australia, the group discovered the hidden gems of Port Lincoln and the Eyre Peninsula.

These days were packed with incredible experiences, including sand dune adventures, wildlife encounters, beachside teas at Guinah Beach, and oyster tasting in the famous Coffin Bay region.

A visit to a local brewery added a relaxed social element to the trip, while one of the most meaningful experiences came through an Aboriginal cultural tour led by Emma from the Barngala mob. This provided valuable insight into Indigenous culture, traditions, and sacred sites throughout the region.

From koala sanctuaries to sandboarding adventures, the Eyre Peninsula perfectly showcased Australia’s natural beauty and unique wildlife.

Adelaide – Food, Culture & A Perfect Farewell 🌆🍽️

The final part of the journey took place in the vibrant city of Adelaide.

Leisure time allowed for shopping and exploring at Rundle Mall before enjoying lunch at the Oyster Bar overlooking Glenelg Marina. The group also visited Temptation Catamaran Cruises and experienced a fascinating city tour with Flamboyance Tours, learning more about Adelaide’s history, food scene, and culture.

A peaceful stroll through the beautiful botanical gardens provided a relaxing end to the adventure before the group gathered for a farewell dinner at Henley House on Henley Beach.

The next morning, it was time to depart from Adelaide Airport — taking home unforgettable memories and invaluable destination knowledge.
